I love recipes that aren't quite recipes - this week, the challenge was in creating the elements that went in to the final assembly.  I went for the bread and the "Nutella".

Now, I would not plan to use my power for evil or self-profit (like serving me breakfast in bed every morning or anything like that) - I would channel my skills on things that would serve to better the household &amp; its inhabitants.

Now that (in)formalities are out of the way...

The hazy, hot humid days of summer have turned my palette to the lighter side.  
There is something about the vast quantities of fresh fruit and vegetables available that call out.  And in their peak - they need little tweaking.  A light hand will do.  Just simply garnish.

Steak crusted in peppercorns.  It was such a strange concept to me when I was first introduced to it.  


The taste buds belonging to my younger self did not appreciate the depth of flavor borne by the crushed peppercorns.  But that was probably because my younger self probably had no idea that pepper could come in any other form than black ground pepper in a tin.
